15, He Was Kind of a Coaching Legend
Robert "Rob" Wilson lost both his parents. In two very different, very stressful situations.
Rob, Norm, Big Willie, Mr. Wilson, Coach...however you know him...this guy knows how to roll with the punts that life has given him.
Rob followed in his father's footsteps and now says of his father, "He's kind of a coaching legend." These sentiments are echoed throughout the Western Kansas communities that were blessed to know the presence of Coach Robert "Bob" Wilson.
Rob talks about he and Bob's friendly relationship while coaching opposite each other, and the moment that his dad decided to become his high school football coach.
Not long after his father's sudden death, Rob's mother passed away after a long battle with cancer. Rob learned his love of cooking from her, and cherishes the last year a half of her life that they were able to spend together.
Rob's advice: No matter what happens Friday night, the sun is gonna come up Saturday morning.
This is a Back Home Media production, recorded and produced in Phoenix, AZ.
Music by Colen Lococo and The Revolving Birds.
