Description
The Deeper Truth is not just knowing God, but being known by God. That God Knows you. What defines your relationship with God is not that you have come to...
show moreWhen you are God’s Own, you are no longer your own. For you were bought at a price and paid for, made God’s Own; your body and your spirit are God’s. (I Corinthians 6:19-20)
You have been re-created IN CHRIST Jesus, made a new creature altogether; the old is gone and your new life IN CHRIST Jesus Has begun. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Your body is now the Temple of the Holy Spirit Who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own, but God’s. He bought you at a precious price. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
Being known by God includes belonging to God, being chosen by God, being a child of God and being remembered by God. It also includes being known by Christ, being known by God in Christ, and recognising your family likeness to God and to Christ.
God knows you as His child and a friend, the One Who loves you; and there is no moment when His eye is off you, or His attention distracted from you, and there is Never a moment He does not care for you. When you are His, you are Known by Him Because He Lives in you.
We have no pedigree that would attract Him to us. We have no earthly reason He should look at us, but He does.
You can only Know God Personally through an Intimate Relationship with Jesus Christ.
The natural man has no ability to come to God, nor does he even have the desire to come. Because his heart is hard and his mind is darkened, the unregenerate person doesn’t desire God and is actually an enemy of God (Romans 5:10).
When you believe that Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead, you are most assuredly known by God.
Scripture Says: But if one loves God truly with affectionate reverence, prompt obedience, and grateful recognition of His blessing, he is known by God, recognized as worthy of His intimacy and love, and he is owned by Him. (1 Corinthians 8:3)
Being known by God changes your life and as a believer you are freed from the sins that enslaved you and opened to have a full relationship with God.
Jesus himself spoke of being known by God in his relationship with those who believed in Him.
“I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own.
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. (John 10:14, 27-28)
Jesus spoke of God knowing us, even to the minutest details, even to the number of hairs on our head and how valuable we are in His eyes.
“Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.”
Luke 12:6-7
God knows you personally and values you. As a believer you also know God and hear and understand his voice.
I am always amazed that God wants to know me and cares for me. His Promise: Because you have set your love upon Me, therefore I will deliver you; I will set you on high, because you have known My name. you shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with you in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. I will reward you with a long life and give you my salvation. Psalms 91:14-16
Being known by God leads to a life of peace and contentment in Him.
Knowing God – It’s All About Love
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and Knows God. (1 John 4:7)
Beloved, let us love one another, for love springs, Comes forth from God; and he who loves his fellowmen is born of God and is coming progressively to know and understand God - to perceive and recognize and get a better and clearer knowledge of Him. (1 John 4:7)
Understanding God’s incredible love for us is the all-important step in truly knowing God! It’s the love of God that has the power to cast out fear and set us free! Let those who fear the LORD say: "His love endures forever" (Psalm 118:4).
The LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love (Psalm 147:11).
