The weather is looking good with clear skies and mild temperatures, perfect for a day out on the water. Sunrise is at 7:04 AM, and sunset will be at 6:14 PM. Tides are moderate, with a high tide at 9:17 AM and a low tide at 3:04 PM, which should provide some good movement for the fish.
### Fish Activity
Yesterday saw some excellent fishing in the Los Angeles waters. The **Pride** out of 22nd Street Landing in San Pedro had a stellar 2-day trip, catching 10 Bluefin Tuna, 1 Halibut, 15 Sheephead, 9 Yellowtail, 1 Lingcod, 210 Whitefish, and 185 Rockfish.
The **Betty-O** from Marina Del Rey Sportfishing had a 3/4 day trip with 1 Sand Bass, 90 Sculpin, 1 Calico Bass, and 3 Whitefish. The **Spitfire**, also from Marina Del Rey, caught 2 Sand Bass, 5 Halibut, 12 Sheephead, and 65 Whitefish on their 3/4 day trip.
### Best Lures and Bait
For Rockfish and other bottom dwellers, using squid or anchovies as bait is highly effective. For Halibut and White Seabass, try using live bait such as sardines or smelt. If you're targeting Yellowtail or Bluefin Tuna, lures like jigs or surface iron can be very productive.
### Hot Spots
One of the hot spots right now is around the Channel Islands, particularly near Anacapa Island where boats like the **Stardust** have been having great success with Rockfish.
Another good spot is the Horseshoe Kelp area, which is known for its diverse marine life and is a favorite among local fishermen. This area is home to multiple species including Bass, Rockfish, Barracuda, and Sculpin.
Overall, it's shaping up to be a great day for fishing in Los Angeles, with plenty of fish to be caught and beautiful weather to enjoy. Make sure to check the local fishing regulations and have a safe trip.
