If you needed any more evidence that the economy was in a fragile, volatile place then today should push you over the edge. Analysts expected the rate to drop slightly to 8.3 % yet instead, it climbed to 8.8% bringing it to the highest point since 1981. With no relief in sight and nobody really knowing what will come next, it seems that the United States and the world at large are all in for a wild financial ride.
