While the government tells us 'core inflation' is down and the 'inflation rate' is lower, we all know necessities - utilities and other goods - cost a lot more than they did only a few years ago. The Federal Reserve has tasked itself with fighting the rampant rise in prices, but inflation has given the Federal Reserve the proverbial New York State Bird in return. Still, it is the regular American who suffers amid all of this.
