The Gulf Cartel has experienced significant infighting over the years, which has resulted in a number of violent confrontations and power struggles within the organization. Much of this infighting can be attributed to the leadership structure of the cartel, which has historically been highly centralized and hierarchical, with a small group of top leaders controlling the organization's operations. One source of tension within the Gulf Cartel has been competition for control of key drug trafficking routes and smuggling operations.
This has led to conflicts between different factions within the cartel, as well as with rival criminal organizations, such as the Zetas, who have been vying for control of the same territories.Another factor contributing to the infighting within the Gulf Cartel has been disputes over leadership and succession. When top leaders of the cartel have been arrested or killed, power struggles have broken out between rival factions within the organization over who should take their place. These power struggles have often led to violent confrontations between different factions, as each seeks to assert its dominance over the others.
In this episode, we take a look at how that power struggle has evolved.
