International Women’s Day is 8 March. This year the IWD 2022 campaign theme is #BreakTheBias. Does bias, stereotypes and discrimination still exist? Aren’t we already more diverse, equitable and inclusive? What does it mean as Asian women? And its link with our sexuality? In this episode, host/ sexologist Dr Martha Tara Lee speak with her sex educator colleague Justine Ang Fonte based in New York, and Melanie, co-host of the Balut Kiki podcast to explore all this and more.

Melanie (She/Her): The only rose among the thorns and one of the co – host of The Balut Kiki Project Podcast, which was recently awarded “Best Podcast Hosts of 2021” by the Asia Podcast Festival 2021. The podcast aims to normalize difficult conversations around depression, mental health issues, gender identity, human sexuality, and everything in between. She is an ordinary Filipina, finding her way through the world, battling depression and anxiety with the help of her psychiatrist and therapist. She and her co-hosts share their stories and stories of countless others to let everyone know that they are not alone and they don’t have to be alone in their journey.
