Hey there, surfers and beachgoers! Welcome to your Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia surf zone forecast brought to you by the National Weather Service in Jacksonville! Get ready for some fun in the sun with some gnarly waves ahead.
Today, we've got a High Surf Advisory in effect until early Friday morning, along with a High Rip Current Risk through late Thursday night. So, while you're out catching those 5 to 7 feet waves, be sure to stay safe and watch out for those strong currents.
The surf height will be at its peak today, with a chance of showers and even a thunderstorm, but don't let that dampen your beach day spirit. The UV index will be extreme, so make sure to lather up that sunscreen! Temperatures will be in the mid 80s with gusty east winds around 20 mph. Hold on to your boards!
Looking ahead to Thursday, expect similar conditions with high surf and rip current risks, a chance of showers, and temperatures in the mid-80s. Keep an eye on those tides as well for the best surfing times.
As we head into the weekend, the surf height will gradually decrease, but there will still be plenty of waves to ride. Saturday and Sunday will bring mostly sunny skies with showers likely and a slight chance of thunderstorms. So, pack your boards and get ready for some perfect beach weather!
Remember, always check for rip currents, especially near groins, jetties, reefs, and piers. It's better to be safe than sorry out there in the surf zone.
That's all for now, beach lovers! Enjoy the waves, soak up the sun, and have a fantastic time out on the water. This has been a Quiet Please Studios audio creation with the help of AI. Please subscribe and never miss a Swell! Thank you for listening. Catch you next time!
