Josué 11 y 12: Cumpliendo los planes de Dios a largo plazo.

Josué 11:15‭-‬23 RVA2015:
De la manera que el SEÑOR había mandado a su siervo Moisés, así mandó Moisés a Josué, y así lo hizo Josué, sin omitir nada de todo lo que el SEÑOR había mandado a Moisés...
... Así tomó Josué toda la tierra, conforme a todo lo que el SEÑOR había dicho a Moisés. Josué la entregó como heredad a Israel, conforme a la distribución de sus tribus. Y la tierra reposó de la guerra.

Josué 12:24: el rey de Tirsa, uno. Treinta y un reyes en total.

En el capítulo 11 y en el capítulo 12 hay un resumen de toda la campaña militar que Moisés y Josué realizaron en la tierra de los cananeos y amorreos.

En el capítulo 11 vemos dos veces la frase: “y Josué hizo todo conforme a todo lo que el SEÑOR había dicho a Moisés”. Aquí vemos lo que significa el perseverar en un objetivo, llevarlo a cabo, y ver el fruto de esa perseverancia.
Lo que fue un plan humanamente imposible, Dios lo hizo posible.
¿Cómo un pueblo tan pequeño pudo derrotar a tantos reyes poderosos? Muchos de ellos se juntaron y formaron un solo ejército tan grande que la Biblia dice que eran como la arena del mar; sin embargo, ¡Dios les dio a Israel muchas victorias de forma sobrenatural!
Esto fue posible gracias a la fe inamovible de Josué; un hombre que creyó desde el principio. Un guerrero que nunca dejó de creer en las promesas del Dios que los sacó de la esclavitud. Que siempre se sujetó a la orden de su líder Moisés y fue perseverante al luchar las batallas del pueblo de Dios.
Josué tenía la firme convicción de que él era un instrumento escogido por Dios para guiar al pueblo de Israel y traer juicio a unas naciones que cayeron en condenación por la multitud de sus obras pecaminosas.

¡Qué lección tan grande podemos ver aquí! Esta es la evaluación de años de preparación y años de enfrentar a enemigos, de mucho esfuerzo levantando la espada y conquistar la tierra que estaba invadida de maldad; en este capítulo vemos que la tierra descansó de la guerra, la violencia y la maldad.
Israel traía bendición a la tierra pues tenía en medio de ellos al Dios santísimo que habita entre querubines y en medio de un pueblo que cree en sus planes, propósitos y promesas.
Moisés derrotó a 2 reyes. Josué a 31. En un lapso de varios años. Esto nos enseña que debemos ser constantes, perseverantes si queremos ver los frutos de nuestro caminar con Dios. Los planes con Dios son a largo plazo, pues en el proceso hacia la bendición prometida Dios nos va formando y engrandeciendo con su gracia y obras poderosas. Como lo enseñó el apóstol Pablo a Timoteo: “Ninguno que milita se enreda en los negocios de la vida, a fin de agradar a aquel que lo tomó por soldado. Y también el que lucha como atleta, no es coronado si no lucha legítimamente. El labrador, para participar de los frutos, debe trabajar primero. Considera lo que digo, y el Señor te dé entendimiento en todo.” (2 Timoteo 2:4-7 RVR1960).

No dejemos que la incredulidad, como a la primera generación de israelitas, nos aleje de los planes divinos de Dios. No caigamos en algún arranque de imprudencia y arrogancia como Moisés cayó, presionado por el pueblo rebelde, lo que no le permitió entrar a la tierra prometida y podría haber derrotado más gigantes. Josué y Caleb son nuestros modelos a seguir, imitando su fe y perseverancia.
Recordemos el consejo del apóstol Pablo acerca de la perseverancia en Gálatas 6:9: “No nos cansemos, pues, de hacer el bien; porque a su tiempo segaremos, si no desmayamos.”
Así que, como líderes de nuestros hogares que han hecho un pacto con Dios, animémonos continuamente para no perder la mirada en el Señor y obtener la recompensa. No solamente tendremos bendiciones en nuestro vivir en esta tierra sino que estamos esperando con ansias la venida del Señor Jesucristo, llegar a su presencia y experimentar la vida eterna.

Joshua 11 and 12: Fulfilling God's long-term plans.

Joshua 11:15-23:
As the Lord had commanded Moses His servant, so Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did. He left nothing undone of all that the Lord had commanded Moses.
Thus Joshua took all this land: the mountain country, all the South, all the land of Goshen, the lowland, and the Jordan plain—the mountains of Israel and its lowlands, from Mount Halak and the ascent to Seir, even as far as Baal Gad in the Valley of Lebanon below Mount Hermon. He captured all their kings, and struck them down and killed them. Joshua made war a long time with all those kings. There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, except the Hivites, the inhabitants of Gibeon. All the others they took in battle. For it was of the Lord to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that He might utterly destroy them, and that they might receive no mercy, but that He might destroy them, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
And at that time Joshua came and cut off the Anakim from the mountains: from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel; Joshua utterly destroyed them with their cities. None of the Anakim were left in the land of the children of Israel; they remained only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod.
So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the Lord had said to Moses; and Joshua gave it as an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. Then the land rested from war.

In chapter 11 and chapter 12 there is a summary of the entire military campaign that Moses and Joshua carried out in the land of the Canaanites and Amorites.

In chapter 11 we see twice the phrase: "and Joshua did everything according to all that the LORD had said to Moses." Here we see what it means to persevere in a goal, carry it out, and see the fruit of that perseverance.
What was a humanly impossible plan, God made it possible.
How could such a small town defeat so many powerful kings? Many of them came together and formed a single army so large that the Bible says that they were like the sand of the sea; however, God supernaturally gave to Israel many victories!
This was possible thanks to the unshakable faith of Joshua; a man who believed from the beginning. A warrior who never stopped believing in the promises of the God who took them out of slavery. That he always submitted to the order of his leader Moses and persevered in fighting the battles of the people of God.
Joshua had the firm conviction that he was an instrument chosen by God to guide the people of Israel and bring judgment to nations that fell in condemnation for the multitude of their sinful works.

What a great lesson we can see here! This is the evaluation of years of preparation and years of facing enemies, of much effort raising the sword and conquering the land that was invaded by evil; In this chapter we see that the earth rested from war, violence and wickedness.
Israel brought blessing to the land because they had in their midst the most holy God who dwells between cherubim and in the midst of a people who believe in His plans, purposes and promises.
Moses defeated two kings. Joshua to 31 In a span of several years. This teaches us that we must be constant, persevering if we want to see the fruits of our walk with God. The plans with God are long-term, because in the process towards the promised blessing, God forms and magnifies us with His grace and powerful works. As the apostle Paul taught Timothy: “No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. The hardworking farmer must be first to partake of the crops. Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things.” (2 Timothy 2:4-7).

Let's not let unbelief, like the first generation of Israelites, separate us from God's divine plans. Let's not fall into some outburst of recklessness and arrogance as Moses fell, pressured by the rebellious people, which did not allow him to enter the promised land and could have defeated more giants. Joshua and Caleb are our role models, imitating their faith and perseverance.
Let us remember the advice of the apostle Paul about perseverance in Galatians 6:9: “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”

So, as leaders of our homes who have made a covenant with God, let us continually encourage ourselves not to lose sight of the Lord and reap the reward. Not only will we have blessings in our lives on this earth, but we are eagerly awaiting the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, coming into His presence and experiencing eternal life.
