J1osué 14: ¡Manteniendo un espíritu joven, fuerte y valiente!

Josué 14:6‭-‬15 RVA2015:
Los hijos de Judá acudieron a Josué en Gilgal. Y Caleb hijo de Jefone el quenezeo le dijo: —Tú sabes lo que el SEÑOR dijo a Moisés, hombre de Dios, en Cades-barnea tocante a mí y a ti. Yo tenía cuarenta años cuando Moisés, siervo del SEÑOR, me envió de Cades-barnea para espiar la tierra. Yo le traje el informe como lo sentía en mi corazón. Mis hermanos que habían ido conmigo descorazonaron al pueblo, pero yo seguí al SEÑOR mi Dios con integridad. Aquel día Moisés juró diciendo: “La tierra que pisó tu pie será para ti y para tus hijos como heredad perpetua, porque seguiste al SEÑOR mi Dios con integridad”. Ahora bien, he aquí que el SEÑOR me ha conservado la vida, como él dijo, estos cuarenta y cinco años desde el día que el SEÑOR habló estas palabras a Moisés, cuando Israel caminaba por el desierto. Ahora, he aquí que tengo ochenta y cinco años; pero aún estoy tan fuerte como el día en que Moisés me envió. Como era entonces mi fuerza, así es ahora mi fuerza para la guerra, tanto para salir como para entrar. Dame, pues, ahora esta parte montañosa de la cual habló el SEÑOR aquel día, porque tú oíste aquel día que los anaquitas viven allí y que hay ciudades grandes y fortificadas. ¡Si el SEÑOR está conmigo, yo los echaré, como el SEÑOR ha dicho! Entonces Josué bendijo a Caleb hijo de Jefone, y le dio Hebrón como heredad. Por eso, Hebrón ha sido heredad de Caleb hijo de Jefone el quenezeo hasta el día de hoy, porque siguió con integridad al SEÑOR Dios de Israel. Antes el nombre de Hebrón era Quiriat-arba, pues Arba había sido el hombre más grande entre los anaquitas. Y la tierra reposó de la guerra.

Esta es una historia entre dos amigos muy especiales. Caleb visitó a su líder y viejo amigo Josué. Como Josué estaba repartiendo el terreno faltante por conquistar, Caleb hizo una petición a Josué, que le ayude para que pueda recibir la tierra que le pertenece, recordándole la promesa que Dios le había hecho años atrás.
El ejército de Israel todavía no había conquistado la tierra que Dios le había prometido a Caleb; sin embargo, Caleb pidió autorización a su líder para ir a pelear y conquistar la tierra que él había escogido.
Posiblemente Josué le pudo haber ofrecido una tierra que ya estaba conquistada sin necesidad de pelear o confrontar a los habitantes que eran descendientes de los gigantes, pero Josué vio la determinación de Caleb que era tan grande que lo único que podía hacer era bendecirlo y enviarlo, pues se sorprendió de la actitud tan valerosa de Caleb, que aunque se encontraba cerca de los 90 años de edad, su espíritu era el mismo desde que Josué y Caleb luchaban juntos como dos jóvenes guerreros. Su espíritu era el mismo como cuando los dos fueron parte de los exploradores de la tierra y fueron los únicos que trajeron un reporte positivo. La fe de Caleb estaba intacta como aquel día que enfrentaron a todo el pueblo sin temor alguno y arriesgaron sus vidas cuando casi fueron apedreados por el pueblo rebelde.

Pidamos hoy al Señor que nos dé el espíritu de Caleb, un espíritu joven, fuerte, lleno de vigor y de fe para alcanzar las promesas del Señor. Que podamos mostrar a nuestra familia la misma pasión que tuvimos cuando dedicamos nuestras vidas al Señor. Que ellos puedan ver nuestra determinación para pelear por el bienestar de nuestra familia desde que el hogar fue formado. Que observen que seguimos siendo guerreros de oración en intercesión, sin ceder espacio alguno al enemigo.
Si te sientes cansado, con ganas de jubilarse espiritualmente hablando, y ya no quieres servir al Señor y como que tiendes a acomodarte donde estás y no quieres alcanzar nuevas metas en Dios, te recomiendo leer y orar este verso de Isaías 40:31: "Pero los que esperan en el SEÑOR renovarán sus fuerzas; levantarán las alas como águilas. Correrán y no se cansarán; caminarán y no se fatigarán."
También toma las palabras del salmista David en Salmos 92:10: "Pero tú aumentarás mis fuerzas como las del búfalo; seré ungido con aceite fresco."

¡Recibe nuevas fuerzas del Altísimo!

Joshua 14: Keeping a spirit young, strong and brave!

Joshua 14:6-15:
Then the children of Judah came to Joshua in Gilgal. And Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him: “You know the word which the Lord said to Moses the man of God concerning you and me in Kadesh Barnea. I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadesh Barnea to spy out the land, and I brought back word to him as it was in my heart. Nevertheless my brethren who went up with me made the heart of the people melt, but I wholly followed the Lord my God. So Moses swore on that day, saying, ‘Surely the land where your foot has trodden shall be your inheritance and your children’s forever, because you have wholly followed the Lord my God.’ And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, ever since the Lord spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old. As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in. Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the Lord spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the Lord will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the Lord said.”
And Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh as an inheritance. Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he wholly followed the Lord God of Israel. And the name of Hebron formerly was Kirjath Arba (Arba was the greatest man among the Anakim).
Then the land had rest from war.

This is a story between two very special friends. Caleb visited his leader and old friend Joshua. As Joshua was distributing the remaining land to conquer, Caleb made a request to Joshua, to help him so that he can receive the land that belongs to him, reminding him of the promise that God had made years ago.
Israel's army had not yet conquered the land that God had promised Caleb; however, Caleb asked his leader for permission to go fight and conquer the land he had chosen.
Possibly Joshua could have offered him a land that was already conquered without the need to fight or confront the inhabitants who were descendants of the giants, but Joshua saw Caleb's determination that was so big that the only thing he could do was bless him and send him, because he was surprised at Caleb's courageous attitude, that although he was close to 90 years of age, his spirit was the same since Joshua and Caleb fought together as two young warriors. His spirit was the same as when the two of them were part of the explorers of the earth and they were the only ones who brought back a positive report. Caleb's faith was intact like that day when they fearlessly confronted the entire town and risked their lives when they were nearly stoned by the rebellious town.

Let's ask the Lord today to give us the spirit of Caleb, a young spirit, strong, full of vigor and faith to achieve the promises of the Lord. That we show our family the same passion that we had when we dedicated our lives to the Lord. That they see our determination to fight for the welfare of our family since the home was formed. Let them observe that we continue to be prayer warriors in intercession, without giving any space to the enemy.
If you feel tired, wanting to retire, spiritually speaking, and you no longer want to serve the Lord and you tend to settle where you are and do not want to reach new goals in God, I recommend you read and pray this verse from Isaiah 40:31: “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

Also take the words of the psalmist David in Psalms 92:10: “But my horn You have exalted like a wild ox; I have been anointed with fresh oil.”

Receive new strength from the Most High!
