show moreDr. Iwona Korga speaks with Dr. Jacek Czarnecki about Józef Piłsudski’s life, family, and the Second Polish Republic. Following WWI in 1918, Poland regained independence and Piłsudski focused on building a democratic state with powerful neighbors (Soviet Russia and Germany). This period marks important changes, including the development of Poland and a new generation.
Dr Jacek Czarnecki is an Assistant Professor at Kingsborough Community College (CUNY) since 2014. He is also associated with the Pilsudski Institute as a Board Member and holds a secretary position on the Executive Committee since 2019. Dr Czarnecki holds a Doctor of Arts degree (Modern World History) from St. John’s University with a concentration in World History and Global Connections.
