show moreHere we are. There we were. What’s your choice? Do we even think about the uncertain future? This isn’t a dull picture or painting! The goal is to build up the richness of the situation. The presence of where we are so that early corrections can be easily accessed. That’s where we need the attention. But do we move too early? A good example takes place during a lull in the workplace day. Instantly we label it a depression. The times aren’t perfect, the people aren’t part of my team, everything feels like a failure therefore I must be in a depression. Whoa! Back it down a bit. We’re all in love and completely addicted to the good and great times. The second something doesn’t feel right we’re quick to bail. Look at the enormous amount of people who are going to work then from out of nowhere disappear off the radar. The out of control pressure placed upon employees isn’t the effect of an overbearing boss but rather team players who saw an open door and took off. How are the rest of us supposed to heal the moment? Tune it into the moment by expecting no two days the same. Be accountable. Hold yourself up by utilizing the balance that your inner core provides. A team player came up to me with an evaluation of her life, “I thought I was an extrovert. I don’t think that’s true. All I want to do is stay home and do nothing. I now look at myself as being an introvert.” Is that where we are? Not just the redesigning of our workday but redefining who we think we’ve become. It became my choice to reply, “No day passes that I don’t feel the same but I don’t let it keep me away from our guests and customers. Think of yourself as an actor. Being here is a role in a movie. When you feel a moment of wanting to quit ask the actor if quitting is part of the story. The actor can be anybody you want them to be. Becoming that actor will free you from everything. Being an introvert is no different than someone saying they have writers block. In this moment of now there isn’t silence. You have told yourself that you suck. The actor in you turns that judgement call into a different scene. Don’t quit yourself. Be the lead actor in your movie.”
