On today’s episode of Sole Sistah Sundays with Coach TK podcast, we’re going to talk about how to use strength training in your running routine. As a runner, there’s more to it than just putting on a pair of shoes and hitting that “azphalt”. You’ve got to put in the work behind the scenes to get that done. For instance, when you are working on developing your skill sets as a runner, you may start out as a walker. From there, you would learn the proper skills it takes to start jogging. However, in order to develop this skill, you must use some form of interval training where you would walk for 2 minutes, then jog for 1 minute. Doing this takes the daunting feeling you would have in trying to maintain a certain time frame. It also gives you a sense of accomplishment when you can run for a certain time before stopping.
You would also need to learn how to do a variety of strength training exercises like yoga, weights, swimming, cycle, and kickboxing to just to name a few. Get your free ebook to learn more tips like these!
