Judge Fran Gull ruled that the confessions made by Richard Allen, the suspect in the Delphi murders of Abigail Williams and Liberty German, will be admissible in court. Allen reportedly confessed to the killings multiple times while in prison. Judge Gull determined that there was insufficient evidence to show that Allen's confessions were coerced or made under duress, as he appeared to have confessed willingly on numerous occasions. The trial is set to begin on October 14, 2024, and will include these confessions as part of the evidence

Following the indictment of former Stoughton police officer Matthew Farwell for the murder of Sandra Birchmore, her family and friends have expressed a mix of relief and sorrow. Wright described Farwell as "sick" and urged parents to be vigilant about programs like the Explorers, which Sandra joined as a teenager, seeking a career in law enforcement. Friends and family members have criticized the lack of oversight and accountability in such programs, which they believe enabled Farwell’s long-term abuse and eventual murder of Birchmore. Many of them have called for greater scrutiny and reforms to prevent similar tragedies from occurring in the future
