Levítico 8: Unción, Armonía y Bendición

Levítico 8:1-12:
1 El SEÑOR habló a Moisés diciendo: 2 “Toma a Aarón y con él a sus hijos, y las vestiduras, el aceite de la unción, el novillo para el sacrificio por el pecado, los dos carneros y la cesta de los panes sin levadura. 3 Reúne luego a toda la congregación a la entrada del tabernáculo de reunión”.
4 Moisés hizo como el SEÑOR le mandó, y la congregación se reunió a la entrada del tabernáculo de reunión. 5 Entonces Moisés dijo a la congregación: “Esto es lo que el SEÑOR ha mandado hacer”.
6 Luego Moisés hizo que se acercaran Aarón y sus hijos, y los lavó con agua. 7 Puso sobre Aarón el vestido y lo ciñó con el cinturón. Después lo vistió con la túnica, puso sobre ella el efod, lo ciñó con el ceñidor del efod y lo sujetó con él. 8 Después le puso encima el pectoral, y sobre el pectoral puso el Urim y el Tumim. 9 Puso el turbante sobre su cabeza; y sobre aquel, en la parte delantera, puso la lámina de oro en forma de flor, la diadema sagrada, como el SEÑOR había mandado a Moisés.
10 Después Moisés tomó el aceite de la unción, ungió el tabernáculo y todas las cosas que estaban en él; y las santificó. 11 Roció con él el altar siete veces; ungió el altar y todos sus utensilios, y la fuente con su base, para santificarlos. 12 Luego derramó parte del aceite de la unción sobre la cabeza de Aarón, y lo ungió para consagrarlo.

Hoy vamos a comenzar la segunda sección de este libro que abarca los capítulos 8 al 10, donde describe el ritual de consagración por Moisés a Aarón y sus hijos. Vamos a ver cómo se oficializa el sacerdocio por medio de vestiduras especiales y rituales de sacrificios.
Aunque, hoy en día, la iglesia de Jesucristo, especialmente nosotros los que no somos judios (denominados gentiles), ya no practicamos esta clase de sacerdocio; es importante recordar que todo esto del sacerdocio eterno de Jesucristo era un simbolismo. Es importante conocer estos aspectos del culto por medio del sacerdocio Aaronico y todos los levitas - miembros de la tribu de Levi - y entender el privilegio de ser escogidos por Dios para esta labor, pero también la rigidez y exigencias que esta tarea conllevaba realizar. Más adelante veremos como unos sacerdotes perdieron sus vidas por hacer lo que no se les había mandado.
Hoy quiero que miremos el momento solemne y extraordinario cuando Aarón, después de ser vestido, fue ungido con el aceite de la unción; el aceite especial que santificaba todos los utensilios y las personas separadas para servir al Señor.
¡Realmente este era un milagro divino, el hecho que un ser humano con defectos y debilidades pudiera considerarse santo delante de Dios! Al santificarse, podía entrar a la gloriosa y poderosa presencia del Dios que se manifiesta visiblemente en una columna de nube y fuego.
Cuando Aarón entró por primera vez al templo para ofrecer sacrificios de paz al Señor, era el momento donde Dios abrió una puerta al cielo para que sus hijos pudieran tener una comunión más íntima con el Señor.
Imagino al pueblo de Israel reunidos alrededor del templo, gritando de alegría, llorando de emoción o arrodillados postrándose ante la magnífica presencia de Dios, sabiendo que ese hombre llamado Aarón iba a llevar los pecados del pueblo sobre sus hombros y los iba a dejar a los pies del Señor, y cuando saliera del lugar santísimo significaba que todos eran redimidos delante de Dios.
En el libro de Salmos encontramos una analogía hermosa acerca del momento en que Aarón fue ungido y la bendición de congregarse con la familia de Dios, leamos Salmo 133:1-3: “¡He aquí, cuán bueno y cuán agradable es que los hermanos habiten juntos en armonía! Es como el buen aceite sobre la cabeza, el cual desciende sobre la barba, la barba de Aarón, y baja hasta el borde de sus vestiduras. Es como el rocío del Hermón que desciende sobre los montes de Sion; porque allá enviará el SEÑOR bendición y vida eterna.”

Cuando nos reunimos, ¡el Espíritu de Dios se manifiesta en medio nuestro! Cuando nos reunimos en el Nombre de Jesucristo; Él se hace presente, nos unge con su presencia, produciendo un amor fraternal especial entre nosotros. Ahí sentimos apoyo mutuo, fortaleza, compasión y alegría. Sentimos liberación, perdón, amor y paz. Nuestra fe crece y la esperanza en Dios se fortalece. Todo esto ocurre cuando varias personas conviven en armonía en un ambiente de hermandad. ¡Aplica este principio de la unidad para que en nuestro hogar también habite la presencia de Dios y derrame bendición y vida eterna! Si en nuestro hogar no tenemos armonía sino discordia, entonces perderemos esos privilegios.
Así que, valoremos esas reuniones donde nos juntamos para adorar al Señor y donde el aceite de Su presencia desciende.

Leviticus 8: Anointing, Harmony and Blessing

Leviticus 8:1-12:
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: “Take Aaron and his sons with him, and the garments, the anointing oil, a bull as the sin offering, two rams, and a basket of unleavened bread; and gather all the congregation together at the door of the tabernacle of meeting.”
So Moses did as the Lord commanded him. And the congregation was gathered together at the door of the tabernacle of meeting. And Moses said to the congregation, “This is what the Lord commanded to be done.”
Then Moses brought Aaron and his sons and washed them with water. And he put the tunic on him, girded him with the sash, clothed him with the robe, and put the ephod on him; and he girded him with the intricately woven band of the ephod, and with it tied the ephod on him. Then he put the breastplate on him, and he put the Urim and the Thummim in the breastplate. And he put the turban on his head. Also on the turban, on its front, he put the golden plate, the holy crown, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
Also Moses took the anointing oil, and anointed the tabernacle and all that was in it, and consecrated them. He sprinkled some of it on the altar seven times, anointed the altar and all its utensils, and the laver and its base, to consecrate them. And he poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron’s head and anointed him, to consecrate him.

Today we are going to start the second section of this book that covers chapters 8 to 10, where it describes the ritual of consecration by Moses to Aaron and his sons. We are going to see how the priesthood is made official through special clothing and sacrificial rituals.
Although, nowadays, the church of Jesus Christ, especially those of us who are not Jews (called Gentiles), no longer practice this kind of priesthood; it is important to remember that all of this of the eternal priesthood of Jesús Christ was symbolic. It is important to know these aspects of the cult through the Aaronic priesthood and all the Levites -members of the tribe of Levi- and understand the privilege of being chosen by God for this work, but also the rigidity and demands that this task entailed. Later we will see how some priests lost their lives for doing what they had not been commanded.
Today I want us to look at the solemn and extraordinary moment when Aaron, after being dressed, was anointed with the anointing oil; the special oil that sanctified all the utensils and people set apart to serve the Lord.
Truly this was a divine miracle, the fact that a human being with flaws and weaknesses could be considered holy before God! By sanctifying himself, he could enter into the glorious and powerful presence of God who is visibly manifested in a pillar of cloud and fire.
When Aaron first entered the temple to offer peace offerings to the Lord, it was the moment where God opened a door to heaven so that His children could have a more intimate communion with the Lord.
I imagine the people of Israel gathered around the temple, shouting with joy, crying with emotion or kneeling prostrating themselves before the magnificent presence of God, knowing that this man named Aaron was going to carry the sins of the people on his shoulders and leave them to the feet of the Lord, and when he came out of the holy of holies it meant that all were redeemed before God.
In the book of Psalms we find a beautiful analogy about the moment in which Aaron was anointed and the blessing of gathering together with the family of God, let's read Psalm 133:1-3: “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron, running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, descending upon the mountains of Zion; for there the Lord commanded the blessing— life forevermore.”

When we come together, the Spirit of God is manifested in our midst! When we come together in the Name of Jesus Christ; He makes Himself present, anoints us with his presence, producing a special brotherly love between us. There we feel mutual support, strength, compassion and joy. We feel liberation, forgiveness, love and peace. Our faith grows and hope in God is strengthened. All this happens when several people live in harmony in an atmosphere of brotherhood. Apply this principle of unity so that the presence of God also dwells in our home and spills blessing and eternal life! If in our home we do not have harmony but discord, then we will lose those privileges.
So, let us value those gatherings where we come together to worship the Lord and where the oil of His presence descends.
