show moreIf you took a month of our lives and really examined and compared how each day went you would see that our day to day lives really don't differ by very much. We are always repeating similar thoughts, actions and behaviours on an almost daily basis.
Our habits and routines run the show quietly in the background while our brain is too busy thinking about other things like a conversation we had or what we are going to have for dinner later. It's this autopilot that runs the majority of our adult lives, we repeat what we have always done.
If we want a change from the normal, a change from what we have always got. We need to make a conscious effort to lay down new repetitions. We need to select the behaviours we want to repeat and then go about them again and again day after day.
Most people know this but they are stuck with the perception that means with every failure they become less focussed and less motivated to try again.
It's our responsibility to look to change these perceptions, to change the filter so we can go through these repetitions over and over and over again while never being discouraged by perceived failures or negative outcomes.
We need to flip the switch and start writing a new script for ourselves.
Every day is a blank canvas, its up to us to try and paint something new.
