El: Στα στενά της Πλάκας ακούγονται χίλιες φωνές.
En: In the narrow streets of Plaka, a thousand voices can be heard.

El: Νίκος, με το στομάχι στις πλάτες, ήταν χαμένος.
En: Nikos, with a hunger in his stomach, was lost.

El: Κυνηγούσε το μυρωδάτο άρωμα του σουβλακιού.
En: He was chasing the fragrant aroma of souvlaki.

El: Η Αθήνα με τα χρώματα και τους ήχους της αγκάλιασε τον Νίκο.
En: Athens embraced Nikos with its colors and sounds.

El: Τα γραφικά μπαλκόνια της Πλάκας, οι ατέλειωτες σκάλες και οι στενές γειτονιές μπέρδεψαν τις πινελιές του ταξιδιού του.
En: The picturesque balconies of Plaka, the endless stairs, and the narrow neighborhoods confused the strokes of his journey.

El: Στον ίσκιο του ιστορικού Ακροπολιτικού βράχου, ο Νίκος είδε μια πινακίδα.
En: In the shadow of the historic Acropolis rock, Nikos saw a sign.

El: "Σουβλάκι!
En: "Souvlaki!"

En: He became inflated with disappointment.

El: Κάθισε σε ένα βήμα και σηκώθηκε το βλέμμα του στα αστέρια.
En: He sat on a step and lifted his gaze to the stars.

El: Οι πολυώροφες παλιές πολυκατοικίες μόλις φάνταζαν στην άκρη των ουρανών.
En: The multi-story old apartment buildings barely seemed to touch the edge of the sky.

El: Και κάπου ανάμεσα, το άσπρο φως του Παρθενώνα χάριζε έναν μούχλιο παθιασμένο ουρανό.
En: And somewhere in between, the white light of the Parthenon offered a moldy passionate sky.

El: Ένας γέρος πλησίασε τον Νίκο, με αργά βήματα, με το κεφάλι κατεβασμένο.
En: An old man approached Nikos, with slow steps, head bowed.

El: Ο "παππούς", αυτό τον φώναξε ο Νίκος μέσα του, με βοηθούσε να βρει τον δρόμο.
En: "Grandpa," Nikos called him in his mind, helping him find his way.

El: Με τα λόγια του παππού, γύρισε πίσω στον δρόμο, πέρα από το στενό που είδε την πινακίδα.
En: With the old man's words, he turned back to the street, beyond the alley where he saw the sign.

El: Σκαλί με το σκαλί, ανέβηκε σε ένα μικρό λόφο.
En: Step by step, he climbed up a small hill.

El: Και εκεί, ανάμεσα στις σκιές των παλιών σπιτιών, ήταν ο παράδεισός του.
En: And there, among the shadows of the old houses, was his paradise.

El: Ψησταριά, καπνός, το άρωμα των σουβλακιών.
En: Grills, smoke, the aroma of souvlaki.

El: Με το στομάχι γεμάτο και την καρδιά ζεστή, ο Νίκος είχε βρει τον δρόμο του.
En: With his stomach full and his heart warm, Nikos had found his way.

El: Οι αδειανοί δρόμοι, οι σκάλες, τα μπαλκόνια.
En: The empty streets, the stairs, the balconies...

El: Όλα είχαν φώς και χρώμα τώρα.
En: They all had light and color now.

El: Ο Νίκος χάθηκε στην Αθήνα αλλά βρήκε κάτι περισσότερο: ένα μέρος για να γευτεί, να αναπαύεται και να νιώθει ζωντανός.
En: Nikos got lost in Athens but found something more: a place to taste, to rest, and to feel alive.

El: Η ιστορία του Νίκου δεν τελείωσε εκεί.
En: Nikos's story did not end there.

El: Η Πλάκα ήταν μόνο η αρχή.
En: Plaka was just the beginning.
