"Love Allah for He is good. Love me as I am beloved to Allahﷻ. And love my family as they are beloved to me." Hadeeth.
The Ahlul Bayt are defined as the People of the Cloak during which the Prophetﷺ, Sayyidatina Fatimah, Sayyidina Ali, Sayyidina Hassan & Hussein were enshrouded in a cloak when the Verse 33:33 was revealed that Allahﷻ intended to purify the family of the Prophetﷺ completely.

As our Prophetﷺ approached his passing, he repeatedly advised the Companions to hold onto the Holy Qur'an and his family. He used the term, 'weighty matters' to describe these two inheritance he was leaving the Ummah.
In the Holy Qur'an, in verse 42:23, the Prophetﷺ was commanded to inform the Ummah that he was not seeking any payment for all that he did for the Ummah, but was only seeking that the believers show love towards his Ahlul Bayt.
And there is a stop/checkpoint on the Siraat, where believers will be asked if they kept good ties and showed love to the Prophetﷺ's family.
So showing love and respect to the Ahlul Bayt is a very serious and heavy matter that believers must be made aware of and practice.
