Today is March 6th, 2018, and it is Alamo Day! The Battle of the Alamo began on February 23rd, 1836. The Texan side lost after 13 days, ending the battle just shy of 2 weeks later on March 6th. While the Alamo was a loss in the war for Texas’ independence, it motivated many Texans to battle the Mexican Army, eventually leading to Santa Anna’s defeat at the battle of San Jacinto.
