Norma Jeane, a.k.a. Marilyn Monroe struggled with an attachment disorder her whole life. Although her celebrity personality provided her with a lot of attention, she truly craved genuine belonging and validation of her true self. Norma Jeane's mother was schizophrenic and she never knew her father. She was passed around in foster homes, never feeling like she belonged anywhere. Ultimately she died alone. "Never knowing who to cling to when the rain set in."
