Kathie holds an accreditation in public relations and is a certified project management associate. She manages all aspects of public relations and writing for In Plain Sight Marketing. Kathie earned her journalism degree at the University of Nevada, Reno, and has worked in communications for over 25 years. She specializes in integrated marketing campaigns leveraging social, web, and print media; guerilla and traditional marketing strategies; employee and stakeholder communications; board development; advocacy and public relations.  

Kathie is accredited in public relations by the Public Relations Society of America. She has served since January 2019 as the PRSA Sierra Nevada Chapter Vice President of Professional Development, mentoring public relations professionals and students. She received the PRSA Board Member of the Year award in 2023. In 2016, Kathie participated in the NV Career Pathway Employer Engagement Process, connecting employers with educators to identify gaps in the curriculum necessary to build skills in the manufacturing workforce. In 2019, she collaborated with the Governor’s Office of Workforce Innovation and the Nevada State Department of Education to identify marketing and public relations trends to help develop future curricula for high-demand careers in the field.
