McLaren aims to outpace its Formula 1 rivals through superior developmental strides, aiming to continue its upward trajectory after moving from the midfield to secure nine podiums and finishing fourth in the constructors' standings since July's Silverstone round. Despite not surpassing its previous peak performance, McLaren has managed to surpass Mercedes and closely follow behind Ferrari, partly thanks to its ongoing focus on upgrades. Team Principal Andrea Stella expressed confidence in McLaren's ability to remain competitive in the "race of upgrades," emphasizing the team's goal to maintain its position and, if possible, challenge Ferrari.
