Episode 83 Melissa Nease
On February 28th, 2021, Twenty-Nine year-old Mother of three, Melissa Nease, was found dead from a gunshot inside her Ocklawaha, Florida home. Just 2 days earlier, her boyfriend and kids had gone to Tennessee to watch the snow fall. Melissa had recently started a job, and had to work so she could not go on the trip. It was a decision that proved to be deadly. Intruders entered her home on quiet and remote, Guava Pass Drive and perhaps were surprised that she was home. There may have been an altercation. Whatever the case, the killer or killers fled the home leaving Melissa to die alone. The main clue that investigators have to work with is surveillance video from an external camera. That camera captured at least one man fleeing the scene- tripping over a piece of patio furniture as he runs. Someone may recognize him. Police have identified two possible suspects, but no arrests have been made.
Melissa's family is desperate for answers. Her sister Amy discusses the case in this episode and shares her fears that the case could go cold.
