Every year we get to December and think "man, what a great year for metal." That's when the arguing begins over what the best was, where each album falls on the year end list, and which ones don't make the cut. It gets a little bloody.

As we're working through all the fan votes for the Metal Injection Reader's Poll, we here in Corey Taylor's basement at the Metal Injection office have come up with our very own year end list based on our collective taste. We had to limit it to 20 because I mean really – there's a lot of great metal out there. We've also got lists of our favorite underground records of 2023 from all our writers coming up soon, so stay tuned!
