This episode is all about shifting your perspective and developing a self-care mindset. By embracing self-compassion and challenging negative self-talk, you can begin to make self-care an integral part of your daily life.
Self-compassion is the foundation of a healthy self-care mindset. It involves treating yourself with the same kindness and understanding that you would offer a close friend. To develop a self-care mindset, you must recognize that taking time for yourself is not a selfish act, but an act of self-compassion. Just as you care for and nurture your children, you should also care for and nurture yourself.
Negative self-talk is the voice inside your head that tells you that you're not good enough, that you're failing as a parent, or that self-care is a selfish act. These negative thoughts can be major barriers to self-care. It's important to recognize when negative self-talk is creeping into your mind and sabotaging your self-care efforts.
