Walking will help loosen up the back muscles and will help relieve the pain. Core exercises are also very helpful. There area variety of exercises that can help such as summing, yoga, weight lifting etc... The exercise helps get the blood flowing and once the blood starts to move through the muscles it promotes healing and will begin to help loosen those muscles up significantly.
