Happy New Year 2019!! It’s the first new episode of the year, and that means it’s time to make plans for what I want to do on the show this year that I’ll probably never get to. Plus I’ve got a little tease for some ideas and recommendations coming up this year.
I realize I do this just about every year. Right around new year’s I look back on all of the things I did last year, and all of the things that I want to do in the coming year. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever really kept up any one of those plans, with exception to maybe keeping a more consistent release schedule. I’ve missed only a handful of shows in the last year, which is more than I can say for years past. I may have been late more times than I would have liked, but I got something out.
On top of that, I actually accomplished my goal of completing the 30 days of podcasting for NAPODPOMO. That by itself was a goal of mine after the failure of 2017.
Somehow I also managed to start a business as a podcast editor and develop an interest in doing voiceover. Although I’ve only done minor work as a voice actor, I have had a little success as a podcast editor which I hope to grow in 2019. First step in that is creating my website for ODO Voice Productions which, considering how long it took to build this website, may take some time. But I know it’s necessary. Along with that I’ve got to start formal VO training, which is going to take time and money, but I know it’ll be worth it in the long run.
As for the podcast, besides keeping up my regular release schedule, I would really like to expand the show more and include more guest spots. My goal is to have a guest at least once a month going forward. I planned to start this in December, but holiday schedules are quite the pain. Since I’m not a great interviewer, I lean more toward the Nerdist/ ID10T method of just having a conversation with people for sheer enjoyment of the conversation. I’d also like to be a guest on more podcasts myself, which again takes time, but is always quite a lot of fun to do.
I also want to do more extra stuff for my Patreon supporters. Over the holidays I released a reading of myself doing “‘Twas The Night Before Christmas” which I really enjoyed. I would like to do more things like that for those people who are awesome enough to support the show financially.

I have a bunch of podcasts that I want to share with you for 2019, but not as many as you may have to share with me. Going forward I want to turn this segment into more of a traditional review/ feature segment. And I want you to tell me what you’re listening to. What do you think I should check out. I’ve been telling you what to listen to for long enough. I want you to expand this segment beyond my taste and into that of the people who seem to enjoy my ramblings.
