The book of Jeremiah starts out great, fantastic actually, with God ordaining Jeremiah to be a prophet even before he was born. Imagine if God would have done that for me or you, how incredible that would be. But as we go through Jeremiah, we see a peculiar thing taking place, this God-ordained man prophet gets his butt kicked, and more than once. In chapter 20, Jeremiah cries out to God, complaining that He deceived him, and then Jeremiah up and quits! Ever feel like that, like God had deceived you? Let me show you how that's actually a good thing. When you got saved, the greatest day of your life, Paul says you were "bought with a price" and were placed into the body of Christ. You ceased being your own and have become His, and as such, He has the right to do with you what is right in His eyes. Since God is perfect, just, true and holy, you needn't worry about what that will look like, for your eternal destiny is sure and fixed. But it can be a long road from salvation on earth to redemption in glory, and as Jeremiah found out, being a prophet for the Lord wasn't at all what he thought it was going to be. But guess what? It wound up being better than he could ever have imagined, all it took was rewiring his brain to think the thoughts of God. Today, I would like to bring you a message on rewiring your brain to think the thoughts of God, and when you do, you'll have perfect peace in the midst of imperfect circumstances.
