In our Bible study the other night, a listener had a really good question about the differences and/or similarities between angel and stars, and after I was done answering his question, the topic stayed with me in my mind. The Lord brought to my remembrance how there are the twinkly stars in the sky, and how there are angelic stars in Heaven who carry out the will of the LORD concerning prophetical things. So then I got to thinking, could the star that the wise men from the east followed to find the young Jesus actually have been a Star who was an angelic being leading them? Is it possible that your King James Bible is really that wild of a Book? The answer would appear to be a resounding yes. There is enough circumstantial evidence in your King James Bible to make a pretty solid case that the Star the wise men followed was an angel, and that would make a really good Bible study for sure. But from a preaching perspective, a topic like this serves to increase your faith in that Book, that it is not 'on par with all the religions of the world', but a Book that stands supreme and stands alone. Maybe it's time for you to increase your estimation of just how powerful that Bible you hold in your hand really is, and what is really being said from Genesis to Revelation. Is it possible that an angel of the LORD appeared to the wise men from the east, as a star, and personally showed them the way to Jesus? Tune in and find out on this NTEB Sunday Service.
