Octubre 13: ¿Dios, estás sordo?

Salmos 28:1‭-‬9 RVA2015:
A ti clamaré, oh SEÑOR; Roca mía, no te hagas el sordo para conmigo. No suceda que, por quedarte en silencio ante mí, yo llegue a ser semejante a los que descienden a la fosa. Escucha la voz de mis ruegos cuando clamo a ti, cuando alzo mis manos hacia tu lugar santísimo. No me arrastres junto con los impíos, con los que hacen iniquidad, los cuales hablan de paz a su prójimo pero la maldad está en su corazón. Dales conforme a sus hechos y conforme a la maldad de sus actos. Dales conforme a la obra de sus manos. ¡Dales su recompensa! Porque no atendieron a los hechos del SEÑOR ni a la obra de sus manos, él los derribará y no los volverá a edificar.
Bendito sea el SEÑOR, que oyó la voz de mis ruegos. El SEÑOR es mi fuerza y mi escudo; en él esperó mi corazón. Fui ayudado, y se gozó mi corazón; con mi canción le alabaré. El SEÑOR es la fuerza de su pueblo, la fortaleza de salvación para su ungido. Salva a tu pueblo y bendice a tu heredad; pastoréalos y enaltécelos para siempre.


En este salmo encontramos dos partes totalmente diferentes, en la primera parte escuchamos un clamor desesperado de alguien que pensó que el Señor no lo estaba escuchando y en la segunda mitad leemos la expresión de agradecimiento porque el Señor sí estaba escuchando y le respondió conforme a la petición que el salmista le hizo a Dios.

Como ya hemos leído en otros salmos, el salmista abrió su corazón y expresó su momento difícil donde se sintió acorralado y apunto de morir. Es por eso que él habló directamente al Señor, rogándole que lo escuche porque parecía que Dios estuviera sordo.
David escribió estas palabras desesperadas porque se encontraba en un estado de pánico porque él se había dado cuenta de que ciertas personas que él pensaba que eran sus amigos y que proclamaban hacer tratados de paz con él estaban maquinando planes malévolos para traicionar a David; ganándose primeramente la confianza de él y luego encontrar el momento para destruirlo. Al parecer eran personas cercanas a su círculo de confianza y que eran parte del pueblo de Israel porque eran también oyentes de la Palabra de Dios. Sólo que ellos no tenían temor del Señor y no obedecían a Su Palabra como David lo hacía.

Lo hermoso de este salmo es que la actitud de David y su estado de ánimo era otro. David proclamó que Dios lo escuchó, lo libró del mal; él recibió la ayuda divina y en agradecimiento él alabó al Señor delante de todo el pueblo.
Por eso debemos declarar como David, que Dios es nuestra ayuda porque somos Su pueblo amado y escogido, Él es nuestro Pastor y nosotros Sus ovejas.

Considera:
¿Te desesperas al ver la hipocresía de muchos que se hacen llamar cristianos pero viven en maldad?
¿Has visto la mano de Dios guardándote de situaciones de traición y engaño?

October 13: God, are you deaf?

Psalm 28:1-9:
To You I will cry, O Lord my Rock: Do not be silent to me, lest, if You are silent to me, I become like those who go down to the pit. Hear the voice of my supplications when I cry to You, when I lift up my hands toward Your holy sanctuary. Do not take me away with the wicked and with the workers of iniquity, who speak peace to their neighbors, but evil is in their hearts. Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavors; give them according to the work of their hands; render to them what they deserve. Because they do not regard the works of the Lord, nor the operation of His hands, He shall destroy them and not build them up. Blessed be the Lord, because He has heard the voice of my supplications! The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him.
The Lord is their strength, and He is the saving refuge of His anointed. Save Your people, and bless Your inheritance; shepherd them also, and bear them up forever.


In this psalm we find two totally different parts, in the first part we hear a desperate cry from someone who thought that the Lord was not listening and in the second half we read the expression of gratitude because the Lord was listening and responded according to the request that the psalmist made to God.

As we have already read in other psalms, the psalmist opened his heart and expressed his difficult moment where he felt cornered and about to die. That is why he spoke directly to the Lord, begging Him to listen because it seemed that God is deaf.
David wrote these desperate words because he was in a state of panic because he had realized that certain people who he thought were his friends and who claimed to make peace treaties with him were devising malicious plans to betray David; first gaining his trust and then finding the moment to destroy him. Apparently they were people close to his circle of trust and who were part of the people of Israel because they were also listeners of the Word of God. Only they did not fear the Lord and did not obey His Word as David did.

The beauty of this psalm is that David's attitude and mood were different. David proclaimed that God heard him, freed him from evil; he received divine help and in gratitude he praised the Lord in front of all the people.
That is why we must declare like David, that God is our help because we are His beloved and chosen people, He is our Shepherd and we are His sheep.

Consider this:
Do you despair when you see the hypocrisy of many who call themselves Christians but live in wickedness?
Have you seen the hand of God guarding you from situations of betrayal and deception?
