Octubre 26: Clamando desde el lecho de dolor.

Salmos 41:1‭-‬13 RVA2015:
¡Bienaventurado el que se preocupa del pobre! En el día malo lo librará el SEÑOR. El SEÑOR lo guardará y le dará vida para que sea feliz en la tierra. No lo entregará a la voluntad de sus enemigos. El SEÑOR lo sustentará en el lecho de dolor. En su enfermedad, tú transformarás su postración.
Yo dije: “Oh SEÑOR, ten misericordia de mí; sana mi alma porque contra ti he pecado”. Mis enemigos hablan mal de mí y preguntan: “¿Cuándo se morirá y perecerá su nombre?”. Si alguien viene a verme, habla mentira. Su corazón acumula iniquidad para sí, y saliendo afuera, lo divulga. Reunidos murmuran contra mí todos los que me aborrecen; contra mí traman el mal. “Algo abominable se ha derramado sobre él. El que cayó en la cama no se volverá a levantar”. Aun mi amigo íntimo, en quien yo confiaba y quien comía de mi pan, ha levantado contra mí el talón. Pero tú, oh SEÑOR, ten misericordia de mí; haz que me levante, y les daré su merecido. En esto conoceré que de mí te has agradado: en que mi enemigo no cante victoria sobre mí. En cuanto a mí, en mi integridad me has sustentado, y me haces estar delante de ti para siempre.
¡Bendito sea el SEÑOR Dios de Israel, desde la eternidad hasta la eternidad! Amén y amén.


El salmista testifica en este salmo cuando, al parecer, estuvo en el lecho de la enfermedad. Él reconoció que por alguna falta cometida contra el Señor su alma estuvo débil y su cuerpo enfermo.
En ese momento estaba recibiendo ataques de personas que deseaban su muerte y que lo calumniaban pensando que algo malo y horrible le ha venido y deseaban que se muriera. David se desesperó y le pidió al Señor que no permitiera que la calamidad llegue a su vida y que la muerte no lo visite.
También podemos mirar cómo David sufría por aquellos que lo traicionaban. David se sorprendió al darse cuenta de que había muchas personas en su círculo personal que vieron al salmista en una condición vulnerable, quebrantado de salud para levantar calumnias e intentar destronarlo y destruirlo.

Pienso que es muy duro tener esas experiencias y decepciones por las acciones de una falsa amistad. Pasar por esas desilusiones también traen enfermedad y debilidad de cuerpo y alma. Pero había algo que no permitió que David perdiera la esperanza en Dios, y era la convicción de que él se había portado en integridad.
Precisamente, David era alguien que reconocía sus errores, e inmediatamente iba a la presencia de Dios para que el Señor lo redimiera. David sabía cuál era el orden con Dios, y él hacía continuos sacrificios en la presencia del Señor, buscando siempre la purificación de sus pecados y tener una conciencia limpia delante de Dios. En este salmo lo vemos clamando al Señor por el perdón y la sanidad.
Aprendamos hoy de David y vivamos siempre en honestidad y verdad. Reconciliémonos con Dios cuando le hayamos fallado. Meditemos en el Señor cuando estemos quebrantados de salud. Confiemos en su socorro si hemos vivido vidas íntegras. Pero sobre todo, nunca vayamos a hablar mal de alguien que esté pasando por una enfermedad, más bien recordemos ayudar al que está quebrantado de salud.
David había mostrado bondades y favores con los pobres. Por eso, Dios lo sanó de la enfermedad, lo guardó de los traicioneros y lo bendijo grandemente.

Consideremos:
¿Estamos acordándonos de los pobres?
¿Estamos teniendo compasión de los que están enfermos?
¿Estamos honrando a nuestras amistades?

Que el Señor Jesús escuche tu oración cuando lo llames en el día de dolor.

October 26: Crying out from the bed of pain.

Psalm 41:1-13:
Blessed is he who considers the poor; the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive, and he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The Lord will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed.
I said, “Lord, be merciful to me; heal my soul, for I have sinned against You.” My enemies speak evil of me: “When will he die, and his name perish?” And if he comes to see me, he speaks lies; his heart gathers iniquity to itself; when he goes out, he tells it. All who hate me whisper together against me; against me they devise my hurt. “An evil disease,” they say, “clings to him. And now that he lies down, he will rise up no more.” Even my own familiar friend in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted up his heel against me. But You, O Lord, be merciful to me, and raise me up, that I may repay them. By this I know that You are well pleased with me, because my enemy does not triumph over me. As for me, You uphold me in my integrity, and set me before Your face forever.
Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting! Amen and Amen.


The psalmist testifies in this psalm when, apparently, he was on the bed of sickness. He recognized that for some fault committed against the Lord his soul was weak and his body sick.
At that time he was receiving attacks from people who wanted his death and who slandered him thinking that something bad and horrible had come to him and they wished him to die. David became desperate and asked the Lord not to allow calamity to come into his life and that death not visit him.
We can also look at how David suffered for those who betrayed him. David was surprised to realize that there were many people in his personal circle who saw the psalmist in a vulnerable condition, broken in health in order to slander and attempt to dethrone and destroy him.

I think it is very hard to have such experiences and disappointments from the actions of a false friendship. Going through such disappointments also brings sickness and weakness of body and soul. But there was something that did not allow David to lose hope in God, and it was the conviction that he had behaved in integrity.
Precisely, David was someone who recognized his mistakes, and immediately went to the presence of God for the Lord to redeem him. David knew what the order was with God, and he made continual sacrifices in the presence of the Lord, always seeking purification from his sins and having a clean conscience before God. In this psalm we see him crying out to the Lord for forgiveness and healing.
Let's learn today from David and always live in honesty and truth. Let's be reconciled to God when we have failed him. Let's meditate on the Lord when we are in poor health. Let's trust in their help if we have lived lives of integrity. But above all, let's never speak ill of someone who is going through an illness, rather let's remember to help those who are in poor health.
David had shown kindness and favors with the poor. Therefore, God healed him of the disease, kept him from the treacherous and blessed him greatly.

Consider:
Are we remembering the poor?
Are we having compassion on those who are sick?
Are we honoring our friendships?

May the Lord Jesus hear your prayer when you call him on the day of pain.
