This is the 5th in a series of podcasts specifically dedicated to how good clinical research on pharmaceutical products is planned, conducted, analyzed and approved. Given the recent Plandemic (not a typo), and Covid-19 "vaccine" rollout including mandates for people to either get vaxed or lose their jobs, livelihoods, and in some cases, their families and businesses, this series is designed to educate people on the process of clinical research - how a new drug gets to market, so that they could make more informed decisions about what they will and will not choose to put in their bodies. The Pharmaceutical Research Process is a complex one, made up of IV Phases to determine safety and efficacy of a new drug. In this episode we will be discussing the phases of a clinical trial, after the animal testing, and after the Protocol and Informed Consent is reviewed and approved by an ethics committee for human participants, and how a drug moves through the process to approval.
A drug goes through a series of Phases before it is submitted for a New Drug Application to the FDA. After animal testing, the new drug (usually identified only as a number), is first tested in normal, healthy, male (usually) volunteers (Phase 1), then tested in patients with the disease state the drug is designed to treat (Phase 2), further testing in a larger population of patients with more complex medical history (Phase 3), and post marketing (Phase 4).
