Thread from the subreddit r/AirForce, where users are discussing the awarding of a "mere" Achievement Medal to an Airman who carried a 79-year-old woman down a mountain after she suffered an injury. The thread expresses strong disagreement with the Airman's award, arguing that he deserves more recognition for his heroism, particularly an Airman's Medal. Users cite examples of other Airmen receiving higher awards for similar acts, highlighting perceived inconsistencies in how heroism is recognized and awarded. The discussion revolves around the perceived unfairness of the Airman's award and how it compares to other award decisions within the Air Force.
