Welcome to This Edition of RiversZen Today for Monday February 4th, 2019
The news of the day: As I am preparing this post I have not seen any traffic out on the highway for quite some time. Kim shared it took Chris 45 minutes to make it home. The school district up the peninsula is on a two hour delayed start. We have not yet heard any mention of a delay for Astoria. We will keep you posted as soon as we know anything. With the amount of snow we see up here, I thought I would share a great post Kim found . . . suggestions on how to walk safely on the ice. Lucky for us we don’t face ice on a regular basis and it is easy to forget how to navigate under such conditions. Rather than walking the traditional way, try walking like a penguin . . . keep your center of gravity over your front leg. Be very deliberate. Don’t bring your other leg forward until you are secure with the front leg.
We will post cancellations as soon as we learn about them. As of right now all classes are still as scheduled. Have a great day and enjoy the snow while we have it.
