Welcome to This Edition of RiversZen Today for Wednesday, February 6th, 2019
The news of the day: I want you to think about your daily motions. Which directions do you naturally move during the day? Which directions do you not move with any regularity? Start becoming more deliberate with the directions you rarely experience. Each of our daily activities may vary. I’m sure there are many similarities and I’m venturing a guess that you don’t spend much time moving your arms behind your body. Test out that range of motion and work on stretching backwards to improve that range and develop strength. As you think about your daily motions test out other areas as well. You will soon recognize the improved strength through that range; but you will also be pleasantly surprised by the improvement you will experience in other areas of your body because of that improvement. Remember, our bodies are like a game of Jenga . . . when you remove a piece of wood in the game the entire stack must balance or crash. In the case of our bodies when you reinforce an area which may have been compromised, you are going to bring an overall sense of stability to your entire body. Test it out. Meet me in Astoria for Yoga for Core, Stretch and Balance tonight and we will be testing out some challenged zones.
