Roberta Raffaetà è un'antropologa e professoressa universitaria di antropologia socio-culturale. La sua ricerca si sviluppa all'intersezione di medicina, ambiente, tecnologia e antropologia. Negli ultimi anni si è concentrata sulle modalità con cui gli esseri umani possono imparare a vivere in un mondo che è sempre più diversificato e a contatto con il non-umano. In particolare, Roberta ha esplorato il mondo microbico, cercando di tracciare linee di significato che ne mettessero in luce l'importanza. Oggi è la principale responsabile del neonato progetto HealthXCross, finanziato dall'unione europea e che mira a studiare come le tecnoscienze stiano riconfigurando le pratiche, ma anche l'idea stessa di salute nel mondo moderno.

Roberta Raffaetà is an anthropologist and professor of socio-cultural anthropology. Her research stays at the intersection of medical anthropology, environmental anthropology and science & technology studies. She studies how to live well and caring for each other in an entangled and more-than-human planet. In last years, she has explored how biocomputational scientists produce knowledge about microbes and why this matters. Roberta is the Principal Investigator of the ERC Starting Grant Project HealthXCross, a multi-sited, comparative ethnographic study of how technoscience is reconfiguring practices and ideas of health by aggregating microbial data across time, space and species.
