On this week's program, host Phil Tower welcomes Robin Lott, executive Director, of Michigan’s Office of Postsecondary Financial Planning. Robin was most recently the executive director of MET…the Michigan Education Trust. MET is Michigan’s 529 prepaid tuition savings program which allows individuals to pay for future higher education at today's prices. MET is flexible, transferable, and even refundable. We also spoke with Robin about MET’s Fostering Futures Scholarship Trust Fund Fostering Futures donations provide scholarships to young adults who were in foster care in Michigan and are enrolled at a Michigan degree-granting college or university.

David is a New York Times best-selling author, and visiting distinguished professor at Vanderbilt University. In 1993 he received the Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting for his coverage of Bill Clinton, and in 2007 he was part of a team that won a Pulitzer for coverage of the Virginia Tech shooting. Phil talked with David about his 2019 release, A Good American Family: The Red Scare and My Father. The book discusses the paranoia that gripped America during the Red Scare of the 1950s through the chilling yet affirming story of his family’s ordeal, from blacklisting to vindication.
