In this episode, Peter and Alex discuss the opening night of the Fantastic Film Festival, which features a series of outrageous films. The festival, which showcases extreme behavior, language, and sex, is programmed by Hudson Soada, who has a built-in audience for these outlandish films. Alex and Peter mention some of the short films they saw, including a Dutch-Belgian co-production called Gnomes and a Japanese short with nakedness and heads being lopped off. They also talk about the difficulty of finding parking around the Lido Cinema where the festival is being held. Alex and Peter saw Mafia Mama, a deliberately over-the-top Mafia spoof starring Toni Collette and Monica Bellucci. The movie is ultraviolet, violent, and played for laughs. Kristen, the main character, discovers that her grandfather was the powerful head of a mafia clan, and his dying wish was for her to take over the family business. Despite the violence, Mafia Mama is carefully stage-managed to take the mickey out of the genre.
