show moreJoe begins with the news that Juan Soto was traded to the New York Yankees in a 7-player deal. Joe likes the move and could be a 50-HR hitter with 81 games in the Bronx. But how will be blend in with the team off the field?
Thursday was another boring Thursday Night Football game, and the under/over was at historic University of Iowa-esque totals. The over/under was 30.
Heisman finalist Marvin Harrison Jr. is undecided about going pro. Joe thought with QB Kyle McCord, who played at St. Joe’s Prep with Harrison, going into the transfer portal, that was the sign that Harrison will declare for the draft. His reasoning is pretty good, and he also has his father to ask questions.
A former Jaguars employee was accused of stealing over $22 million. It’s a pretty bizarre thing that occurred, and it wasn’t Urban Mayer or Blake Bortles, who was trending on Twitter when the news broke. Sometimes Twitter can still be a place for comedy!
Bryce Harper wants an extension on his contract, but he still has eight years left on his 13-year contract! Science has advanced as has the medical field, but Joe thinks it’s way too soon.
Finally, Joe talks about the story that he posted on Bleacher Brothers about the Belmont moving to Saratoga for 2024, and possibly 2025 running on the final leg of the Triple Crown. Joe’s disappointed that the race was shortened to a mile and a quarter despite the circumference of the track and should have been a mile and five-eighths if Joe is correct that they run a race at that distance later in their summer meet.
Then Joe has some banter with some friends who came into the show late on No Filter.
