Hey there, surfers and beachgoers! Time to catch some waves along the Northern and Central California coast. Here's your surf zone forecast brought to you by the National Weather Service in San Francisco Bay Area.

Starting today in Sonoma and Marin County coastal areas, we're looking at some decent surf heights with 12 to 16 feet on the Northwest facing beaches and 5 to 8 feet on the South facing ones. The weather will be partly cloudy, and the water temperature is around 53 degrees. Expect the winds to strengthen from the Northwest starting at 13 mph and increasing to 17 mph.

On Tuesday, the surf heights will slightly decrease to 8 to 12 feet on Northwest facing beaches and 5 to 8 feet on South facing beaches. The weather will be mostly cloudy, but the temperatures will be a tad warmer ranging from 50 to 62 degrees. Winds will be coming in from the Southeast at 4 mph and increasing to 8 mph.

For those in Santa Cruz County coastal areas, today you're in luck with mostly sunny weather and surf heights hitting 8 to 12 feet on West facing beaches and 5 to 8 feet on South facing beaches. Temperatures ranging from 49 to 61 degrees and ideal NW winds at 17 mph.

On Tuesday, expect partly cloudy skies with surf heights between 8 to 12 feet on Northwest facing beaches and 3 to 6 feet on South facing ones. Temperatures will range from 52 to 60 degrees with Southeast winds at 6 mph.

And finally, in Monterey Bay and Big Sur coastal areas, today's surf will be between 6 to 9 feet on West facing beaches and 3 to 6 feet on South facing ones. Enjoy the mostly sunny weather with temperatures ranging from 53 to 61 degrees. The water temperature is around 54 to 55 degrees, so be prepared!

Looking ahead to Tuesday, the surf will be slightly lower with 6 to 9 feet on Northwest facing beaches and 3 to 5 feet on South facing beaches. The weather will be partly cloudy with temperatures between 52 to 61 degrees and light Northeast winds at 4 mph.
