This episode is a continuation of Locke's theory of private property in the prepolitical state of nature. The Labor Argument is the first in support of a rule of property was previously discussed in episode 8. This episode is devoted to the Incorporation Argument in which Locke puts forward the dubious claim that if incorporating an apple into one's body by eating the apple makes it "my apple," then so must picking an apple from the tree make it "my apple." Locke ends the chapter with a theory about the origin of money and how it might justifiably lead to an inequality of wealth in the state of nature.
