Being the right place at the right time. We hear about it all the time from Rock Stars to Pro Sports Super Stars. Business leaders are no different. Being right there in the center of a moment that brought you forward. On this podcast episode we lean into this somewhat overused clarification. Cuz it always feels like someone other than us is in the right place at the right time. How about those plumbers, car mechanics, grocery store stockers and other essential job employees that haven’t missed a paycheck since Covid started. Right place at the right time? Those jobs that career chasers said they’d never do are working while millions of others are trying to figure out if the government is going to continue sending $600 a week unemployment checks. Teachers right now don’t want to think about being in the right place at the right time. They’re tucking in their chins and heading into the fire. Have I painted a large enough negative picture yet? Being in the right place means what to you? In 2020 where all things feel like they’re going wrong, is there enough room for an itty bitty victory that will help give you light in the darkness? This past Sunday. Sunrise. Walking down a long and winding road through a collection of trees. As the sun rose, its rays of light began to shine through the forest taking the shape of something special on the right side. There in front of me was the perfect picture of what life feels like. The road goes on and on but in that place just to right is what I captioned: God whispering, “Never stop trusting me.” Right place at the right time. Covid, the protesting and the financial crisis being the road. The rays of light representing an image of not being alone. Before taking the walk at sunrise I had just written in my daily writing, “I have never asked where are you God? It’s always been show me your image.” I’m not saying to stop questioning the source of your energy. Just ask to see it. We’re blinded by so much content and news that we’ve gotten used to the idea that it’s ok to stop relying on what we call reality versus what we assume is happening. In this moment of now. Right place. Right time. Don’t question it. Invite it into your right place at the right time.
