After meeting for several months, a grand jury announced on Nov. 24 that they would not indict Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson for the fatal shooting of Michael Brown, an unarmed black teenager on his way to college. On Dec. 3, a grand jury in Staten Island voted not to indict New York City Police Officer Daniel Pantaleo in the death of Eric Garner, a black man who died after Officer Pantaleo placed him in a choke hold. Since then, America has seen a new level of civil unrest that hasn’t happened since the Civil Rights Movement.
