Brother Ben tells me the hardest thing about being a gay christian. In this conversation he also shares details about how it was opening up to his family telling them the truth about his sexuality. Many of his family members accepted his homosexuality however his parents were not so accepting. Until some time after. Talking with Benjamin Carlton at length was very interesting to say the least. The one thing I enjoyed most about this conversation with Brother Ben is that he didn't shy away from any of my sometimes awkward questions. Benjamin's story is known by millions of people around the globe, especially the popular article titled "I'm Black, I'm A Minister, and I'm Gay". For those who follow my Billionaire Brown fan page on Facebook you know that prior to this conversation I have been toying with the idea "Is it possible for a pastor/preacher/religious leader to be an atheist?" To be honest, most of you told me that I was stupid and ignorant for having such a thought. Amongst the many things I learned in this conversation, I also received confirmation that my atheist idea is so much closer to being true than I ever thought.
