De: In der lebhaften Stadt Berlin lebten zwei gute Freunde.
En: In the lively city of Berlin, two good friends lived.

De: Anna hieß die eine und Klaus der andere.
En: One was named Anna and the other was Klaus.

De: Sie herrschte eine Woche lang mieses, Berliner Wetter.
En: The weather in Berlin had been miserable for a week.

De: Gleichermaßen trafen Anna und Klaus die Entscheidung: sie wollten bald einen sonnigen Nachmittag zusammen mit Kaffee und Kuchen genießen.
En: Equally, Anna and Klaus made the decision: they wanted to soon enjoy a sunny afternoon together with coffee and cake.

De: Anna war die erste, die angeschrieben hat: "Hallo Klaus!
En: Anna was the first to message: "Hello Klaus!

De: Hast Du Lust, morgen Nachmittag auf Kaffee und Kuchen zu treffen?
En: Would you like to meet for coffee and cake tomorrow afternoon?"

De: " Klaus antwortete schnell: "Klar, Anna.
En: Klaus quickly replied, "Of course, Anna.

De: Was für eine schöne Idee!
En: What a lovely idea!"

De: "Doch als der Tag kam, stand die Sonne am Himmel.
En: But when the day arrived, the sun was shining in the sky.

De: Das perfekte Wetter war endlich da.
En: The perfect weather was finally there.

De: Aber bei Anna und Klaus gab es ein Problem.

De: Beide hatten vergessen, wer den Kuchen backen sollte.

En: Shall I pick up the cake from there?"

De: "Anna lächelte und sagte, "Das ist eine gute Idee, Klaus.
En: Anna smiled and said, "That's a good idea, Klaus."

De: "So lief Klaus ohne zu zögern zum Bäcker, kaufte einen leckeren Erdbeerkuchen und fuhr zu Anna's Wohnung.
En: So, without hesitation, Klaus went to the bakery, bought a delicious strawberry cake, and drove to Anna's apartment.
