It’s 2020 which means it is a big election year and there are many big elections coming up! As California voters brace themselves for Super Tuesday many are wondering who and what will be on the ballots. One of the most significant races are for the residents of LAUSD’ District 7 as they will be going to the polls to select a new board member. Tonight we speak with one of the candidates in that race Tanya Ortiz Franklin. We ask Tanya about why she thinks she would be a good choice for school board, her stance on the growing charter schools, special education and the future of LAUSD. Tweet her at @TanyaForLAUSD
Also tonight we discuss how the Impeachment of Donald Trump is not only putting the US Senate on trial but the entire United States Constitution. Listen in as Mike breaks down how the impeachment is calling many of the ideas the framers put into the constitution into serious question. What will the Senate do? Will it follow the rules or simply make up new ones.
We also discuss the 10 year anniversary of Citizens United and how that Supreme Court decision is still affecting us today with money in politics.
