show moreCummins was named the 2017 AUS and U SPORTS Coach of the Year after posting a 6-2 record.
It was Cummins’ second time being named the National Coach of the Year.
In the summer of 2018, he was the Defensive coordinator with the U19 Team Canada program that won gold in the IFAF U19 World Championship in Mexico City.
Cummins has also been named the AUS Coach of the Year in 2004, 2005, 2011, 2012 and 2017 along with being honored as the National U SPORTS (CIS) Coach of the Year in 2011.
Cummins captured his first of five AUS Football Championship in 2005
and has represented Canada on the World stage previously working with the 2009 Junior National team, the Senior team in 2011 and the 2015 Senior Men’s National team.
A graduate from the University of Oregon Ducks in 1993, he went on to play as a defensive end and tackle in the CFL on various teams including: Las Vegas, Toronto, Ottawa and finishing with Hamilton Tiger Cats, where he captured a Grey Cup in 1999.
From 2001-2003, Cummins played in the Arena Football League with the Toronto Phantoms, Arizona Rattlers, and the Georgia Force.
Cummins makes Wolfville his home with wife Karen, son Joshua and daughter Sydney.
