show moreA former native Afghan interpreter for the US military and his family are facing homelessness. Abdul (using only his first name for the safety of relatives who still live in Afghanistan) began working with the US at the age of 17, first as a translator, then acquiring other roles during the war in Afghanistan. His career came to an abrupt halt when he stepped on an IED and lost his leg. Members of the Temple B’nai Abraham in Beverly community have been able to provide temporary housing since February when Abdul, his wife, and five children came to the US on a Special Immigrant Visa but are now seeking temporary or permanent housing for them on the North Shore. Dan talked with Rabbi Alison Adler and Abdul about how you can help.
