Ricky Woods ("Woody") had a troubling upbringing and when a judge decided the military would help him shape up, he was off to the 101st Airborn. Though the Vietnam war had just ended, being part of the 101st fulfilled Woody's thrill-seeking behavior but sadly, it didn't end his troubles and he quickly became addicted to drugs and alcohol. He later recovered and started working as a corrections officer, which led him to become a sergeant on the SWAT unit where he finally found some sense of stability. However, addiction reared its ugly head and Woody spiraled into a life of crime, encountering a life or death situation, prison time, and a life-changing medical diagnosis. Join me as I dive into Woody’s story of turmoil and understand how he found himself through the chaos, continuing to tell his story of hope.
