show moreMost people have no idea what passion really is. Passion is anything that lights you up, turns you on, and makes you excited. It’s what you care most about that you would do for free, like caring for your children, creating art, walking through the woods, listening to music, or running your own business. When you are living a life filled with passion, you are excited to get up every day and enthusiastic about being alive.
Why does this work? When you do the things you enjoy doing or even just think about them, you generate biochemicals in your body that change your internal state. This makes your cells and organs healthy, and even changes the way your brain works. You secrete endorphins that make you feel good. Antioxidants keep your cells youthful. Acetylcholine relaxes your vessels so your organs get more oxygen and nutrients. Your body detoxifies and releases waste. Overall, this gives you a healthier body and a feeling of vibrance and vitality. You reverse ageing and stay young.
The other thing that occurs when you have passion in your life is your brain works better! Living your passion changes the areas of the brain that are active, so you have positive memories, and deeper understanding of situations. This “big picture” mindset keeps you far above the ups and downs of life so that you live in an inspired state.
